I purchased these two in March when they were just a week old, and now I can not really tell what gender they are.
I know silkies are hard to sex and I may just have to wait and see, but maybe I can get a definite answer on the barbed rock.

Barred rock is a pullet. I'm not used to beardless silkies. I would expect it to have more of a crest and fluffiness elsewhere. Is this a hatchery bird?
I bought both of those babies from Tractor Supply, so I am unsure if they are considered hatchery birds or not. The silkies were labeled as bantams, but I did have more chicks (another barbed rock, another silkie, and two cornish) and the other baby silkie was half the size of the one I have now when they were babies, but only these two survived this far out of the six due to a bad case of coccidia last month. So I am not entirely sure if getting sick early in life might have affected feather growth or not.

If they came from a feed store, they're hatchery birds. Your Silkies will likely never get a big crest, but they'll probably be great mamas, layers and pets! I'd expect to see bigger combs and wattles if they were cockerels, so I'm gonna guess they're pullets for now. That could change though, they're still pretty young!
