What gender are these almost 2 month old silkie chicks.

I have 2 silkie chicks that are almost2 months old. I am just curious on what gender you think they are. I know that it might not be accurate, just do your best guess.

I’d say you have 1 cockerel (the one with the bigger comb). I am leaning towards cockerel for the other one but I’m not sure and can’t say.

The only thing about that is that if they are cockerels that is their crowing age, so chances are they would have, or will be about to crow. But you can tell from the way their combs are that they are cockerels.

Sometimes, but sometimes not. The majority of mine don't crow until 5-6 months or older. I've seen hundreds of this breed (I breed them) and some of them can be sexed at this age and some of them not. It varies greatly on the birds. You cannot tell at this age definitively what the gender is without a DNA test.
