They can depending on the breed but they aren’t usually very red. I have been tricked by combs so I always wait for male specific feathering. When you compare them to your pullets of the same breed it is another good indication. I have a 12 week old cockerel right now who looked like yours at six weeks. The pullets of the same breed that were three weeks older had much smaller combs.I just didn’t know if some pullets at that age can have big combs too
