What gender are these?

I recently purchased a sussex cross, a plymouth barred rock and a rhode island red cross. I have no idea what the parents look like and I think they are all pullets...am I right?

The first and third birds are pullets. I'm withholding judgement on the barred bird.

Do you know how old they are? I agree first and third look like pullets but they have very thick legs.......the barred bird looks like a barred rock mix cockeral, esp if they're all the same age.

I would say the first one is a pullet, red star or sometimes called golden buff. How old is the second one? The third one looks like a RIR pullet. The Barred one looks like a hen in color but that comb is really red, that is why I ask the age.

Thank you for your comments. They are all the same age...about 10 weeks... I plan on waiting till they crow before deciding what to do with them, but figured in the meantime I would see if anybody has any idea what they are so I have an idea of what I'm prepared for. I had no idea that's where sexlinks came from...great to know! Once I know for sure (they either crow or lay), I will go into each of my threads and post updates! I find these threads very useful myself in learning what features distinguishes males from females in breeds. I know the cross breeds are harder to pinpoint.
