After finding out that both of our kinder chickens are probably roosters, we went and got 4 newbies today.

WDYT?

Also what colour are the silkies?

And these are still roos right?
Chick and Dale:

They have completely different shaped tails. Does that mean anything at this age (6 weeks)?

The first two are either brown leghorn pullets or welsummer pullets.

The third and fourth are Silkies.

The last two are indeed cockerels. They look like Sex-Links.

Sorry, I should have said - The first two were sold as Welsummers and 3 and 4 as silkies. Just hoping to find out genders. I did think 1 & 2 were pullets but I have noooo idea about the silkies!

Celia might be a Rooster, the crest looks very spikey.
I am pretty sure that Princess Atta is a girl! Very uniform & round crest.

Just thought I'd update that Celia is most definitely a hen. We've been getting eggs for just over a week now, and today we saw her sitting on the nest (which she continually makes on the ground grrrr) and then turning the egg with her beak. Yay!

Curious what the experts have to say as to whether these are hens or roos?
I bought hens but I know that there is still chance of getting a roo.

The blondie is a Buff Orpington and is 3 weeks old.
The black one is a Jersey Giant and is also 3 weeks old.
The black and white speckled is a Cuckoo Maran and is 4 weeks old.
And the brown multi colored is an Ameraucana.

I know that the Cuckoo Maran has a rather pronounced comb but this breed seems to at this age so I'm still hopful that my hens are indeed all hens.

My bad. I didn't realize I had posted into another thread. Let me re-post this in it's own thread. Sorry `bout that.
