What gender is my chicken

Im not sure if my chicken is a hen or rooster. Its a red production about 6 months old and so far no eggs been laid. Chicken can be little territorial towards people and other animals sometimes.

A friend of mine who has bunch of chickens told me today that she thinks maybe a rooster because of how red and big the crown is and looks like starting to get couple long saddle feathers but still hard to tell on those feathers to me. Sometimes she gets attitude with me but usually flys up onto my lap and follows me around the yard. She lives with my outdoor rabbit and very protective over the rabbit but will attack my dog and my other rabbits that shes not housed with and people she doesnt know.

Pullets will get a bigger and redder comb when they are about to lay

Big breeds like yours usually get large combs. She looks like a very healthy pullet.

Oh, 100% a pullet.
At 6 months old, you would know if you had a cockerel. Eggs won't be long.

if she is a production red, she is probably a sex link. Which means she is a she because she is red.
