Any guesses (or can just flat out tell) if we have a pullet or roo? This little one is 5-6 weeks old. We already had to send 1 roo back to the farm (out of the 4 chicks we got
).

Thank you for sharing and for your opinion. Your flock is awesome! I’ve scoured the internet trying to find descent pictures, videos, info. Are there any clues in the tail feathers or behaviors of Orloffs? This chick would squabble with another chick that ended up to be a roo (that we took back). I reeeeeeally like this little Orloff. Our flock is small (4 chicks now, all different breeds) and raising chicks is more mentally challenging than what I thought it’d be.I am not sure...I would wait a few more weeks, as Orloffs are known for maturing slowly.

At the age your chick is, no clues in the tail feathers yet. If it is a male, I would expect its tail feathers to curve and mostly become an iridescent black as it ages.
