what gender is this? (buckeye with yellow tag)

I'd say hen. Lacks prominent comb and wattles that roosters should have by that age.
 
Buckeyes are notoriously difficult to sex *(even among Buckeye owners) which is why you aren't getting many replies. Comb size is just not a good indicator with them, but this ones comb appears to me to be pretty red and it appears to have some pointed sickle feathers coming in so I'm leaning toward a cockerel on this one. If it lays an egg later, you'll know I was wrong. :o) I hope for your sake I am wrong.
 
Yes, as I look closer I see the sickle feathers as well... Hoping its a hen but the more I look at it the more it looks like a guy....
 
It's a young cockerel, Sickle feathers and the black feathers in the upper wing and back is a good indicator.
