When I got the chicken it was already on the ground and feathered..but I'm not sure exactly how old it is..I've had it for 3-4 months...its not crowing or laying and when I received the chicken i was told it was a hen..but since its grown someone said they thought it was a rooster..any idea if its a hen or rooster. I've been told its a Columbian rock if that matters..thanks for any help.

I think it could be a hen. Don’t really see any saddle feathers and the comb would be much bigger if it was a roo.

It’s a little hard to tell. Do you have any pictures that shows the tail more?

I believe I see the beginnings of pointy saddle feathers but I could be wrong. Give it a bit more time. It would be more helpful if you knew the age of the chicken.

I'm sorry I'm still new to this...pointy saddle feathers? Does that mean it would be a hen or rooster?

Pointed saddle feathers would mean male, but good luck seeing them here. The feathers look very messy and are self colored. Not going to be the easiest to see.
