Sadly one was killed by a hawk. I was cleaning out their crate. I'm visiting my parents and took them with me. Right after I took these pictures I put them under a giant milk crate weighed down with bricks. Went inside to wash my hands. One of the chicks stuck her neck out to peck on greener grass and I found a hawk sitting on top of the crate. Poor chickie dead not a lot of blood or mess surprisingly and her two friends huddled next to her . I'm so mad at myself for leaving them for a few minutes. My parents live in a pretty populated area so im surprised. Well when I get home I'm locking my hens up nice and tight. We have 3 other pullets at home. ..,and really PO'd at myself and that hawk

I'm sorry she was killed!

Don't be too hard on yourself--everybody makes at least one mistake when it comes to chickens. I'm sure you won't let it happen again.
