What gender

For eight weeks, they all look like pullets to me. I would expect a wyandotte roo to have more red by now, they tend to develop combs pretty fast. That being said, this is my first year with wyandottes, so I'm not an expert. Also, I have had pullets that would raise their hackle feathers when establishing dominance over another hen. It is a "roo" behavior, but hens can do it too, especially when pecking order is being established. I hope they are all girls for you, the waiting can be tough!

Also, the white ones look like light brahmas, not sure if they are a cross b/c I haven't had these before, the black looks like a silver laced wyandotte, the red I'm not sure, not a breed I have experience with.

Thanks for that. I did say "room" lol. My typing leaves a lot to be desired. Would be great of they are all hens alright. Quite attached already. Suppose we could keep 1 anyway if things change. But pullets are the easier option. You have wyandottes? Do you think she's a pure or cross breed, bantam or full size . I'm definitely not an expert, but I'm thinking cross. Thanks for the advice, I'm sooo impatient

My wyandottes are BLR,not the silver, so no direct experience with them. It doesn't look like a cross, but it may be what people refer to as a "hatchery quality" bird. I would wait a while though, wyandottes tend to get all of their nice lacing in slowly. I would guess it is a standard b/c the size is similar to the brahmas

Hi guys,
Updated photos @ 10 weeks, I wonder would their gender be easier to tell now. Any help much appreciated by this impatient chick newbie

I'm awful with Wys, first year raising them. But I would guess yours are all girls. Mine are about the same age, and my boys have more comb and wattle.

Hi guys, updated photos here. Wow how fast they grow. They're out free ranging with the big girls now.

Chill time
