I was just thinking about goals and dreams and I was wondering what y'alls goals and dreams are.

I'll go first. I contacted a real estate agent today...I'm going to open a store. It's going to be some time before I can but I want to start looking into everything now. I live 3 miles from "downtown" Youngsville and the lil main street is busy all day with people passing through.

There's a bunch of lil shops and I think there's some vacant ones. There's also a couple of lil farm style houses in the main street that are being sold for commercial use.

I would DIE if I could by one of those houses and turn it into my soap shop. I'd have a kitchen to cook the soap in and everything.

Y'alls turn!!

My short term goal is to finish my batchlors in bioengineering. Then my longer one is to get a PhD in Biology or the like, and possibly get a DVM too. I would like to work in a lab type setting in either academia or industry. I would also like to grow more stuff and be as self sustaining as possible.

Oh the best to you on that Trisha! You seem to have a wonderful repoire with people and business stuff. The soap is great!
I'm almost fifty. I've accomplished a few artistic personal goals recently. I'd still like to write and illustrate a childrens' book. I'd like to find a way to do the home farm type things that I love and retire working from home(gardening and hanging out with the animals) as well as doing art. I sold quite a lot on eBay for a good four years. I'm currently taking a break from the art. The economy has been bad for extravagancies(sp) like artwork. I'm sure I'll get back to it sooner or later. An artist's soul remains just that.

Good luck on the store Southern!!

As for me well, my last child started Kindergarten this year.

I have been an at home mom for the last 7 years.

I quit my AWESOME job when I was pregnent with my second child. I could no longer carry the computer towers and the chemicals I worked around made me nervous. I use to build and test Military motherboards and computers.

I am now finishing up my classes for my Real Estate Appraiser License. Hopefully I will be able to start my internship in 2008.

well i guess compaired to everyone else my goals are very simple - I want to buy my first house with plenty of land and room for some really nice coops and a small barn.
Raise lots more chickens, maybe a mini horse, and of course my boxers, throw in a goat or two.
I also love to crotche (sp?) baby blankets and layette sets so I guess I would really like to start selling some of those, but mostly I really want to get a little family farm thing going on.

Oh I forgot, chickengirlnm just reminded me.

I also want my 20+ acre farm. I mostly want to raise my chickens and get a bunch of goats. I want to sell goat milk and cheese along with eggs. I got my first egg order!!! That's $2 in my pocket.

Oh, I forgot one of my goals too! Having a family and being a housewife! j/k half away about the last one... That would be half a waste of an education... but at least I'd be educated!

Its funny you would start this thread today. DH and I were discussing our plans for the next few years.
Spring...2008 : Plant a few apple and peach trees..and a blackberry patch...enlarge the garden, and build a smokehouse. Get a few pigs for slaughter in the fall.
Eventually....in a few years when the trees are producing...have a small vegetable/fruit stand out front, and sell eggs as well. Nothing extravagant....just the "extras" we wont use. Maybe sell jams and jellies. I LOVE makeing them, but we never eat all I make! LOL
We already have persimmons, elderberries, mulberries, grapes(they are only 1 or 2 yr old plants tho) garden and chickens. Long term goal?? Just be healthy and happy...and love each other...we are not spring chickens! LOL
