My two adopted hens have the best manners. They're 3 years old - I felt sorry for them being all alone at the feed store where they were abandoned. I was worried about the temperament of the chickens, but other than being skittish, they're pretty polite. They wipe their beaks at the door of the coop every night (I've seen it happen on more than one occasion) and turn in around 6:30. Quite the quiet pair. It's kind of funny how my old flock tore up the joint, caused a ruckus and never came in until the last blink of sunlight. My husband jokes that they're 'seniors' and need to act like the mature ladies that they are!

Anyone else seen this level of "maturity" in your chickens?

Nope, But I used to have a duck that wiped his feet before he came inside,
