At the tender age of four I had two broiler chicks escape their doom by jumping from the transport truck to my front yard, this was the beginning of a life long love of poultry. Since that time I have probably owned, hatched tens of thousands of different breeds and varieties of all species of poultry and can truly say I love them all but my favorite are Cochins, all varieties and all sizes! I began to show at age 10 and began showing sanctioned shows 20 years ago. Initially, I showed because I was fascinated with the fowl and the vast array of colors, shapes and sizes but now I find the people who show them to be the most interesting and fascinating part of poultry exhibition. I love to talk chickens and when I am at a show I will spend hours with friends talking about our birds and just life in general. It is truly a great hobby for the bird lover but it is an even greater hobby for the people lover!
