what happened to my dear sweet barbara?!?

Just to give you a back up story about her: She was born 9/3/21 by a broody hen, her mom and dad are bielefelder so she is purebred bielefelder, she lived will 7 brothers and 2 sisters until we got rid of the rooster because of over mating, then for the past 3 months has lived very happy with her sisters free ranging wherever they pleased, until last night...

I have no idea how she died I just found her at the bottom of the night cage completely no bite marks or anything!

I don’t know much about this, but my family’s first rooster died rather suddenly as you described. We’re pretty sure he had a heart attack. As a reference, did Barbara ever become blue in the face, have foaming spitle, or seem as if she was choking.? I ask because this used to happen to the aforementioned rooster, and we suspect it had somthing to do with his heart. Again, Im no expert, just somone who had a similar thing happen ti them.

I just found her dead in the morning. But I did see that her comb was purplish.

Like I said, we’re not supper sure of what happened into the rooster, but he did become purple in the face every once in a while. I think both him and Barbara probably had heart failure.
