What happened to real farmers markets?

farmers market's i go too are not that bad yet. i go camping up north, and the town near us has a farmers market ever week, its mostly veggies, some baking and other odd things (one year a guy was selling homemade fish hooks) but there is only maybe 10 stands during the peak season lol.

been told the ones in the city's are pretty bad more like a craft show then produce.

but i don't like cowards. so i go to the small town/scale farmers markets. :)

We have a local one on Saturdays and Wednesdays--it still has a lot of farmers selling veggies, herbs and animal products, but there is a scattering of crafty stuff, as well. I hope the balance doesn't shift. There's also a local 'corner store' type of place that brings in local farms' produce and makes home-baked and -cooked foods. It's a bit pricey, but still handy for when I'm clueless about dinner and/or don't want to heat up the house.
