What happened to the glass thermometers that actually work?

Incubator arrived yesterday(Janoel12) and so did 2 digital temp/humidity gauges (acurite 01083 & 02097)
Put it together and let it run for a few hours and they all read different was a 5 deg C difference in the readings so I put the lead in from a F pid controller that was low so put in a digital meat thermometer that read close to the same as the pid
So I got the brilliant idea to just use one of the old fashion glass thermometers with the scale etched in the glass that you put under your tong
Sent the wife to go get one and she couldn't find one
so I looked on line at Walgreens and now the only non digital ones have a big tube around it with a paper scale that according to the reviews can either move or just not be installed correctly
:barnie:th:barnie
Sorry just needed to vent had 5 thermometers in the incubator all with different readings :barnie
I did find one of the old fashion ones online and its going to be rowed over soon

This is our first time trying to incubate eggs

Our own dear environmental extremists nixed these instruments because they considered them dangerous, especially if you had one under your tongue while you were playing Professional Hockey and got body checked. Causing you to bite the glass tube in two.
Of course they ceased being very accurate once the Mercury was replaced with red alcohol.

I got a thermometer that read temp & humidity from Dels/TSC.
I just received my Janoel 12, testing it out today, so far so good. Temps been holding steady at 38C (100.4F), humidity 35 - 38% (mercury thermometer) but I'm running it dry. I calibrated the hygrometer today, put it in this evening and will check in the morning.

Cant wait until mine arrives so I can check my temp while hopping down stairs on a pogo stick

I checked my cooking / grilling thermometers using ice water and boiling they checked out ok so using one to check the temp
I did adjust the temp gauge in the incubator using the CA setting
and the incubator is holding temp good
when I check it (I don't leave it in all the time so not to restrict the flow of the vent)
I am going to check on getting the one you got because both of my new temp/humidly gauges are defective
On one of the utube videos I watched on the janoel12 said the HU setting was for humidly
You know if that is correct? It could control the fan speed thus affecting humidity

You will do better to purchase a rectal thermometer because average human anal temperature is 99.5 Fahrenheit or about the perfect temperature for hatching eggs in a forced air incubator. Just don't forget where the used ones have spent their working lives and pop it into your mouth!!!(
If you only need to hatch a couple at a time
Why waste money on an incubator
Just have to remember to catch them before they hit the bowl
