What happened to this duck?

i found this mallard very injured, half of her head is hanging off and it looks like her beak is split in half.. not sure what could of caused this?

Either raped buy Drakes or a predator got her. Needs to be put down I believe..Can't save them If suffering like that..contact a local wildlife rehab.

It's probably the work of a predator. I'm not sure a wild duck can survive with a badly damaged beak as foraging and eating things is going to be difficult. I agree that you can either contact a wildlife facility or let nature take its course. While I do not like to see animals suffer, in nature they are all an important part of the food chain, and this duck, for better or worse, will be a good meal for a variety of predators.
