If it’s a hatchery bird it might just be bad genetics.

If the chicken was part of a breeding project for another color, I might suspect the mottling gene. But most Golden Laced Wyandottes do not have the mottling gene, so it is more likely to be one of those weird things that happens without us ever finding a good explanation.

It must be a printing error in the feather haha and yes she is a hatchery bird.
