Confused by feathers.. hidden silkie genes?

The chick definitely looks silked, which would mean that at least one of your hens carries the gene for silked feathering too.
The rooster who you said is half silked, half smooth sounds like a fascinating bird, though!
He is a very cool bird, it’s cool to know he really is half silked and not having some odd feather deformity
I suspect the mother is my light blue hen as the white chick has light blue and white feathers and the mother likes Boris most other hens don’t
