I have a silkie hen. She is on her own right now but I’m thinking of integrating her into my existing flock of 1 rooster and two hens. They’re barnyard mixes and not fully mature, meaning the hens have not started laying yet and the roo is only the start of some spurs.
what I need to know is.. if he tries to mate with my silkie girl:
1 will he hurt her because of his size?
2 WhT will the babies look like if she decides to set ?

Depending upon his size there is the potential that she might be injured. The younger the birds the better the chances of integration. Because of their generally mild temperament and impaired vision due to crests, silkies introduced to large fowl can be injured - far better to raise them together from chicks. Silky/hard feathered crosses have five toes on each foot, are slightly crested, and are hard feathered.
