I have a barred rock rooster who mated with my aracauna hens. The chicks are black with yellow areas and all the chicks look the same.... are they one breed or the other or a cross?

Also I found some duck eggs at a nearby pond and put them under a hen. They are hatching today. The ducks at the pond were runner ducks, mallards, and a few other types I did not recognize. Will the ducklings be or look like a cross or will they be one or the other type???

I know this may be a stupid question, but I have no idea!!

I am in a similar situation as you. My Rooster is a GLW, and the eggs that hatched were from my Light Brahma's & EE.
Right now the chicks that have the Light Brahma Mama, look like Light Brahma chicks, except for some gray smudging on the head & back.
Granted they are only 2 weeks old right now, so thy can change. The EE chick is chocolate colored & is getting the plaid wings.

My 2nd set is only a week old, and two were EE eggs, and have the chipmunk pattern, one looks like a BO, but has feathered feet, another is almost solid black, dark feet/legs & beak. It is my ????? chick.

I have BO, BR, EE, & Light Brahma hens, and the GLW Roo. This is my first hatch, so I am excited to see what traits they get from their parents.
