What has my hen just produced?

My thin chicken who has been moulting has just laid a pale soggy skin and a separate lump that appears to be tissue. It's up to 4cm in length and has the colour of cooked chicken ( sorry!) and when I cut it it has many folds inside. Any ideas? She seems fine now.

Sometimes my older girl lays an egg with only the slightest shell, well, it's not a shell. It's a soggy, membrany thing. I just gave her some crushed up clam shells ( I think, something like that) and it fixed that.
