I set two dozen eggs a week and a day ago. I’ve had great experience in hatching eggs, but I’ve never had anyone request hatching eggs before. Specifically bantam Buckeye eggs.
With last night’s candling, I found
BBS Bantam Wyandottes... 0 percent fertility (I expected this, I’ve had issues with them before and will no longer propagate them)
Bantam Buckeyes... 73 percent fertility (14 out of 19)
Quail d’Anvers... 100 percent fertility (there was only one ;) )

If you were to theoretically buy hatching eggs from a reputable buyer, what percentage of fertility would you expect?

I can't keep roosters where I live so I source all of my hatching eggs from others. 75-100% fertility is usually what I get from my reliable sources and I was perfectly happy buying hatching eggs with 50% fertility because she made me aware of it before selling me the eggs and she didn't charge as much as when she was getting higher fertility. So I think as long as you're honest and let the customer know what percentage of fertility you're getting you should be just fine.

Thank you!
