Thank you for the advise. The one Leghorn died last night. The other one is in a quarantine pen alone. They were not housed with my other chickens anyway. I am keeping an eye on everyone. The Black Sumatra Trio has been safely in their own area.
Is there anyway to clean the run area? I am going to try and purchase some of the Oxine disinfectant as I have read that it is better than bleach.
My husband has agreed to do the "deed" when I am not home, because I am emotionally attached to the younger ones.
I have 3 coop and run areas and a quarantine area that is away from the others. The Leghorns and 1 Black Sumatra rooster were in one, The Sumatra trio in one and the 18 younger ones in the last. When I did let the young ones and the Leghorns out to free range, we always had to go and find the Leghorns because they tended to wander away from everyone.
This may have been a saving grace for some of them. We will see.
I am taking everyone's advise and "NOT" purchasing anymore chickens for quite some time. I will try and replace their feed this weekend and see what happens and keep it posted.
While I may have been unlucky and dumb for introducing chickens too soon, this is definately a learning experience that I will not repeat. I appreciate the help.
