Well, our local pharmacy and coffee shop was having a free coffee and cake promotion today, so since I was in the area at the time, I stopped in. I noticed they had some hay on their front decking, I only noticed 3 or so to begin with. (They had them 2 on bottom, one on top, with pumpkins as decorations out there).
Well I asked the owners dad about what they do with them, said I would be interested, he was SOOO happy, said last year they couldnt get RID of them, they will call me in a day or two and have me come get them free, thank you thank you kind of thing.

Well, when I left, I noticed their were FOUR sets of three, omigosh 12 bales (or maybe more I didnt notice). What in the world am I gonna do with 12 hay bales and how am I gonna get them, goodness it will take me 3 or 4 trips. Sigh...I didnt have the heart to call back and tell them I only wanted a few, and I guess I can always put some on the garden, etc. Hmm, the girls will be warm THIS winter.

Wow, I would love to have someone give me free bales of hay!!!
If you know someone with a pickup, ask them to go with you and get it all at one time.
You can give a few away as Christmas presents to people who have rabbits or goats!!! Do you live near me????? Hint Hint !!! LOL

I wish I could get them this year! Last year I got... lets see... nearly 30 small bales of hay... I am still using them today for the coop and probably only have enough to last though this winter... then I'll have to start buying straw again for about 9 a pop. :|

LOL, no sure dont live close. I picked a few up at my local grocery store but they were wet and HEAVY. They had about 50 bales, and they were gone in 24 hours. I told the guy just put a free sign up. I cant imagine they had such a problem last year getting rid of it. Go figure!

My sis has a truck, so I can just use that, no prob. Its just those three I got were a pain, but these are dry, so should be easier. Just hope he calls me to get them before any rain. Yep, if you were here, you could sure have half!

Save them if you can, maybe skids and a tarp. They should keep if dry. You will have chickens for a long time. I mix hay with shavings and I find its better than either one alone in keeping the poo off my shoes!
