What have I gotten myself into? Ready for more :)

Our chicks are almost 3 weeks and since we live in TX where it's getting pretty warm we will put them outside in their coop with a heat lamp on in a couple weeks. I am sitting here looking at other breeds wondering what should we get next?

What other breeds are docile, easy to handle and great egg layers?

If you want excellent egglayers, then hands down I would pick the Golden Buff hybrid. (Also called golden comet and other names.) They are a cross between two breeds, bred specifically for egglaying, and the ones I have are the sweetest chickens ever! Plus they lay a nice extra large egg daily!
