What have you done for your chickens today?

Gave them hot water and hot oatmeal for breakfast.

Let's see... Cleaned out the coop, and treated them to some BOSS. I also filled their run with dead leaves, as suggested in a post earlier this week. Later today I'll be getting a flock block as a special Thanksgiving treat. Oh, and I made these:

I figure they're the perfect size for Santa to tuck some meal worms into!

Well, it was a half day of school today (Woohoo!!) And I elt the chickens out.. after I thanked them and hugged them all, and thanked the hens for the eggs. Also I just got one of our non-laying chickens to lay!! Woohoo Daisy!I also might give them a little apple too! ^^

Went to the feed store and spent $150 on feed and supplies. Spent more on them than I did on DH and I at the grocery store.

Note to self...chickens MUST get jobs!

Made my girls a makeshift "coop" in the garage out of folding chairs and blankets because its so cold outside!

They are now happily perp-perping away in their warm winter home.

I have been taking them warm water and warm treats all day to ward off the cold! My banty got to hang out inside my down jacket for a while to warm up and the coop has become totally winterized today!

I'm ashamed to say that I didn't make stockings for my girls. I dug em' up some worms though......

Here ya go Moabite...this was Sunday morning, woke to 14" of snow. Some did melt off over the day Sunday, but we received another 4" last night.
