I forgot to mention that my little boy finds "toys" in the yard...feathers, pine cones, flowers, fruit from the orchard, mint leaves, etc. The poor little guy is so tiny that he can't seem to keep anything to himself when the chickens are in his vicinity...which is always! They hover around his feet, patiently waiting for just the right moment to snatch his toys and run. There are usually tears. I do feel sorry for him, but it's just so funny!

Funny, I put up cheap 2 foot tall green wire fencing around any garden beds I want them to stay out of and it has worked for 5 years, chickens won't jump over it.

My garden bed just have some bird netting wrapped around them. Keeps them out, very now and then one will figure out to go up and underneath but then they panic cause they can't figure out how to get back out. Lol I planted climbing roses bushes and had to use some strong fencing to keep them off of them. When the petals fall off I throw them to my girls, they love them.

They will, eat, & eat, & eat, & eat.. Just about everything!! Spoiled brat's!
We give then fresh cut grass, frozen treats, fruit, veggies & bug's.. ect.. We do like to feed them fermented feed. "F.F." 30% more nutrient's..

They destroyed my vegetable garden, my flowers, all the sod we put down for them, and they've dug craters all over the yard. They are destructive little things!
