What heated waterer do you guys use?

I like the idea of a de-icer and a nipple waterer. I'm just worried 250 watts is to much on a thin plastic bucket?

It says that it is safe to use with plastic, so I'm going to try it out. However I also bought another bucket just in case it gets warped. If that happens I'll just use a heated dog dish for winter and the bucket with horizontal nipples in the summer. We have one for our dog and it's work for the last 3 years. If the de icer works like the dog dish it should never get warm enough to melt the plastic. Will see

If concerned about a 250 watt heater in 5 gal plastic bucket, consider a riser on the bottom using small terra cotta flower pot, saucer or ceramic plate from Thrift store.
