My friends in hot n frosty central nsw australia trim it to about 2m, they've had it forever n have no idea what it is. I want to try to buy or propagate it, but to start to work out how I guess i Need to know what it is, lanceolate pinnate entire are properties of the leaves i think,it is technically a tree, the hedge is just a good few of them together

My guess is Oleander.
My mother had them when I was a kid. She teased my dad the she was going to make him Oleander tea. It's poisonous!

I look at pictures of rhododendron and Oleander, and they seem to have bright and easy to see flowers, but this hedge has no easily seen flowers, they would all blend in. It's adult, at least more than a decade old, and never noticed coloured flowers on it. I think it has flowers and seed, but tiny and subtle.

I don't think its Russian olive like in the pics, there are no thorns at all. Ive never seen anything as large as an olive on it, the hedge consists of any plants, a few score or so, I would think if it needs male and female trees, it would have both.

Ill need to get more pics of the hedge.
