What I do wrong????

Okay so I bought two dz Maran hatching eggs and 14 cornix quail eggs at auction. First time goIng at this - little giant 99.7 good humidity - it is day 26 and still nothing ...... So I tried one Maran and it had done nothing from day one check all the eggs and very very few had anything and the ones that had was just about dime size and that's it.... The quail I checked and each one all 14 where fully formed but dead... What did I do wrong? ????? Help please!

What was your humidity during incubation?

If it's too high, especially during the last three days, once they internally pipped, they could have drowned which could explain the quail. For the Maran's. are you sure they were fertile? If there was literally nothing, then I would assume that they were infertile.

Saddly I don't have a way to measure the humidity - it know it was very moist. The Maran eggs might not have been good to start with they were too dark for me to see in what was going on.... Will lower the humidity on the next batch and get something to measure the levels in there.

That probably did it then, aim for 40 - 45% humidity for the first 18 days and then aim for about 65% for the last 3 days.

Humidity can definitely ruin a hatch. If it was high during the first 18 days, or if it was too low the last 3..

I run even lower then 40-45%. Closer to 25-35% is where I aim. Last hatch I had 23/26.
