They actually say to not shave them in the summer... (sometimes i do have his fur thinned out though..)
BUT.. you have to be VERY careful in the heat with them....
they can overheat very easily... make sure they have shade and cool water in the summer time... (thats VERY important... they have to have a place out of the sun to lay down..mine sleep under my porch...)
mine dosent go outside in too hot or too humid weather... he just goes out to potty and back inside..
They sure love the snow though...
Also..beware of bloat with them... I know someone that lost 2 of her Saints to bloat...
Ok, so no shaving. We always have water out for her. She doesn't stay out long, usually just 20 or so minutes, and then she will bark to say "I'm ready to come in now." There is shade in the yard, different spots throughout the day. Since her fur is so long, I think I will try to thin it some.
Bloat? I will have to check on that, I have no idea what it is.
