Hello,

I'm new here so nice to meet you all.

I have a hen that has been sitting on her eggs for 1 week. I noticed yesterday that she was soiling her eggs. I thought she might be afraid to leave the nest to do her thing, so I moved her over with her eggs to another place away from the other chicken, so that she could have more quite and peace. This morning I noticed that she was not on her nest and her eggs were cold. So I'm afraid that she didn't sit on it the whole night. Any change these chicks will make it if she now conitinues to breed again..? Or is it too late?

Many thanks for your advice...

The move could've Brooke the broodiness.. was she on the roost or just off the nest? Do you have an incubator? Watch her if she doesn't sit on the eggs today put them in the incubator, because most likely she isn't broody now. There is a chance she may go broody again if left alone. These eggs could have a chance if they get the right temp and humidity within a day. How far along are they?

You can leave her in the coop to hatch. I like for my bloodiest to be on the floor of the coop. But if she breaks from a move you may want to leave her alone if you want chicks.

Hi, I have just checked an she is sitting again on the eggs. So I will leave her alone as much as I can. I ordered a little light so see through the eggs, this will arrive tomorrow. But I have no experience at all so I don't know what to look at 🙂

She is breeding for 1 week now.
I have no incubator yet..
