What if you only have 1 bator and 2 sets of eggs???

I have 18 BCM eggs in the bator going to lock down tonight, and I added 12 Muscovy eggs 6 days later. I got a cheap used but working incubator on ebay to hatch out in, so my brand new pretty incubator with the auto turner can stay, well, pretty

I suppose you could do lock down on the original eggs, but you'd be raising humidity as well, not sure how that will affect your later clutch? I'm sure someone savvy in the ways of incubating will be along shortly! I'm a newb

Good luck!!

I have a large home-made fridge incubator and have eggs due on several different dates. I don't hatch at a very high humidity (usually around 55-60%). I incubate at around 40-50%. It doesn't seem to effect the other eggs since it isn't too big of a difference.

This just happened to me on my last hatch. All of the eggs were supposed to come within a day of each other. Silkies and pheasants. Of course the plan didn't work and the pheasant eggs came over a week late. I did a dry incubation so my biggest worry was lockdown of course. I use a still air incubator and both plugs were out. When it was time for lockdown, I positioned the pheasant eggs so that they could be turned through the plug holes rather than opening the bator. I couldn't do anything about the humidity so I just held my breath. I fashioned a coat hanger to turn and it worked pretty well. Once the chickens hatched I let the humidity just drop and then I raised it again for the pheasant lock down. All went well although the pheasant eggs did get rolled a bit by the chicks that hatched.

Good luck
