I have an omlet go up coop that should fit 4 chickens, but I bought 5 chicks because everything I read said to buy an extra one just an case one didn’t make it. Would it be okay to leave the door open on the coop and just have roosting bars just in case they don’t all fit when they get older? My run/coop is on cement and have hardware cloth everywhere even on the entire bottom floor so I feel they are pretty protected.

If you feel that it's safe enough against predators, nothing says chickens have to roost inside.
