What illnesses and diseases can humans transmit to baby chicks?

As far as I know, there's no transmission of human to chicken.

What are you worried about, do you have sick chicks?
I do not have any sick chicks from what I'm seeing currently but there is a sick relative in the household and I do not want my chicks to get sick.

Chicks can make humans sick if they don't wash hands or practice good sanitation methods.

Keep the chicks in a room where you can shut the door so the whole household is not disturbing them so much.

Are you in a cold climate? If not, then brood chicks outside. Chicks are quite dusty and their dander and shedding fluff will stick to everything.

Humans cannot infect chickens with anything, so relax.

Chickens can potentially infect humans with stuff like e.coli and salmonella, but it is very rare, especially if you keep their coop clean and look after their health. I have had numerous "lap chickens" that are more like pets throughout the years and no one in my family has ever had issues despite handling and petting them constantly. Make sure they have a dust bath available, clean the coop, give them proper food, some vitamins from time to time and you will have nothing to worry about.

Another good news is that the common chicken pests like lice and mites cannot survive on humans for more than a day. So even if they jump on you they will quickly die on their own.
