What in the world is going on here??

White Brahmas are extremely rare in the US. I doubt that one is pure due to the unlikelihood. Light on the other hand is the same as the columbian pattern and has black on the wings, neck, and tail. Here's a picture of my Light Brahma cockerel for reference. I can't see yours well enough in the photo to tell

Are you sure that this is a cockerel? We have 4 Brahma x EE 10 week old cockerels who all have huge and dark red combs--and crow--this photo looks like a pullet--with such tiny, more pink vs red comb--just curious!
 
We ended up with a solid white grin crossing an EE with presumably our Golden Sex Link--our Brahma x EE still look distinctly Brahma! I'm guessing yours are not what you were told.

Yes! Absolutely positive! While his comb is pale compared to my other four Brahma cockerels, he has pointed male sex feathers 😊 They weren't very visible in that picture, here's a better one!
