I had got a new chicken 3 weeks to a month ago. All of my chickens adapt to me very well. If you knew the relationship I had with my birds it's kind of cool .. but this one... Oh my God this one... I brought her home and she got everyone sick. It was manageable and I saved everyone. But she just does NOT stop crying she's a spawn of Satan... Anytime she sees me she freaks out. You know I just can't help abusing her I guess. Yeah I use various torture techjntech like feed her... And save her freaking life -_- so it's not like she doesn't have a reason to be freaking out... I feel bad but I'm actually kind of starting to lose my cool. I have my chickens more so for support animals and I will do anything to make them happy anything at all. But I also sort of demand they have tamed personalities like my other chickens. They're so sweet and calm.. but sunshine is driving me crazy she's just causing a lot of problems. They can't learn how to get along so in turn she's bullying the smaller pullets keeping them from eating Ive noticed when she's gone everything seems much calmer werew a happy chicken family again... I have tried the slow introduction methods over the course of the month but they just can't seem to stand sunshine and Sunshine's always acting up and screaming. I sort of lost my cool and almost put her down this morning. I just can't begin to wrap my head around what she's going through in her head...? Is there something she's missing?? I mean for the most part when my chickens are locked up there are plenty of things to kick and scratch which they do all the time it's cute... I've noticed when my chickens make annoying noises because they are playing I'm much calmer... It doesn't bother me at all because I love my chickens and want them to be happy but when sunshine is just freaking out for no reason it's super disruptive and I know it should be more patient it's she's been causing s lot of problems behavior with the flock and I'm starting to feel like she's just being disruptive

:gigI have a SLW that’s nonstop crybaby! She *itches about everything. The breed is known to be very “vocal”. She so funny when I bend over and quietly ask .... What’s wrong...she’ll tell me a bit quieter....as soon as I stand up she’s on full blast. What a brat!!
That is the best!!!:clap

Every chicken comes with a different personalty. Even same breed flocks will have some pretty individual characters that stand out.
Your sunshine may never be what you want her to be.
i currently have 4 last year birds that were hatched here and one of those i call "crazy girl". She runs from me and squalks like mad if i get to close. The other 3 are sweethearts and eat from my hand. I have never mistreated crazy or deseve her fear for any reason.
She is who she is. She is beautiful as is, and i enjoy her that way.
If you are fustrated with sunshine and if she is distroying your chicken yard peace, maybe you could find her a new home. Craiglist her or advdvertise her at your local feed store. I am sure someone will be glad to take her.

I agree with the above post. It sounds like Sunshine is not the bird for you. It could be you're stressing her out, trying to make her be tame. She may not be acclimated as well to people and being handled. I don't think chickens are able to process the fact that since we feed and house them they owe us the decency of acting like pets. If she's really causing you this much trouble, I would suggest finding her a new home.

If Sunshine is not working out for you and your current flock then find her a new home. It would probably be fairly easy if you post her on Craigslist or a local Facebook group. Facebook chicken groups here always have people looking for pullets and hens.

We have a lovely Favaucana that we adopted from a family in town because she was “too loud”. The owners & more importantly their neighbors got tired of her almost not stop “chatter”. I found her through Craiglist. She is a cherished member of our flock now. Is she still loud? Yep almost every minute she is locked up......she was born to be a free range chicken. The minute I let her out of the run she calms right down and gets quiet.

Maybe your Sunshine is like my Grey and needs free range time to be happy?

Maybe the way that she is is the reason why she was sold or given to you.

Sometimes the bigger the stinker the bigger the heart. Some chickens Take longer to trust if they ever do. Mine all to some level scream until I let them out. But I’m different I guess mine are pets and even when they are past their laying prime I am committed to keeping them till they pass away. Just like my dogs. The only disqualifier is physical injuries if I have one that hurts the other chickens or people who visit they are uninvited to live here. Same with my dogs. And I have one crazy dog....who’s harmless. So got some soul searching to do. Best wishes
