I am doing this research right now. Hovabator is way better than Little Giant. Brinsea is better yet but for the price and amount of eggs to hatch Hovabator 1588 is tops. Do a search on topic for hovabator and it will anwser alot of questions.

Oh yes! Brinsea will save you from the heartbreak of the LG's!

LG's dont hold temp really well and are very touchy and could easily kill the eggs with a temp spike. Search LG bators and you will see a lot of horror stories from them.

geeze maybe i better get another incubator. I have lost quite a few eggies in this my very first incubation. LG does hold a heck of a lot better than my homemade one where i used a home thermostat though.

I just set 14 eggs in my LG for my first-ever hatch on Friday evening, and I'm pretty sure they're cooked. I'm having a very difficult time getting a steady temp. It's been all over the place. It jumped to 115F on the lowest setting before I had the eggs in it. I literally have the cover cracked about an inch so that the temp stays between 100 and 102. Maybe a model with a fan would work better. I received mine as a gift, but if I were you, I'd spend a little extra to get a more reliable model.
