What is a fair price for a yellow and a amherst chick 4wks old

HELLO,
i was recently contacted by a lady that is going to sell her 4 wk old Yellow Pheasant and a 4 wk old Amherst chick. What is a fair price to pay. She was asking $30 for ea and I kinda laughted because I thought that was a little high considering you can find good breeders that have adults for $60 sometimes cheaper. Please let me know what everybody thinks or should I be laughing at myself for not getting them.

A lot depends on where you are located. Here in Illinois $30 for a 4-wk-old would be ridiculous. I sold juvenile pairs of red & yellow goldens last fall (once I could sex them) for $25 - $30. Amherst might bring slightly more as they are a little harder to find here. I do have some amherst this year so we'll see.

I get $7 each for amherst and goldens at 4 weeks. sometimes less if they buy multiple birds

yea i charge $10 each until they are sexed and paired off.
