In about another 2 weeks the 70 Cornish crosses I'm currently raising will be ready to go to the growout pens. I have three 5 ft by 10 ft pens that I'm going to use. I'll move them probably every day or 2 to fresh areas of grass in my yard.
The area they'll be in is some pretty healthy grass and there are some clover and other weeds in with it. It might be too late for it at this point, but what would be an ideal foraging grass for these birds? I may be doing another batch later this summer so I could get the area prepped if I need to remove what I have there and plant a better type of grass. Looking for suggestions on what a good grass or ground cover is the plant for this.
