What is a good mid-priced desk top computer?

Just bought a new HP6540f system from Office Maxx.

Tower, keyboard, mouse...came in around the $480 mark on sale.
Running windows 7. Already had the flatscreen monitor. Actually
running twin monitors. New HP 6500 all in one printer added another
79.00 to the price. They threw in a new digital camera.

Seems like a nice enough system.

Before this I had a Dell for several years. No complaints, but I paid
a ton for it.

Around Christmas time (Black Friday) there are usually some really great deals, right? I hope so anyway .... my Christmas shopping plan is to buy each family (3 of my kids anyway) a PC, (because I hate their laptops)....

ASUS is mainly a parts company. They have been one of the big supplier for dell, HP an other for years. If you own a PC, no matter who made it, it probably has something in it from them.


Red, have you seen the episode of dirty jobs that was filmed an turned down by the network?
