What is a good price to pay for a still air incubator?

Ebay is where I am on, and I've been researching the incubators on there. I am going now to look up the place you got yours at, cause it sounds like a much better deal.

Forgot to ask, did yours come with a fan or not? And do I really need the fan?

I would recommend getting the fan for sure. I know the hatch rates go up if you get them. I have a hovabator and got pretty good hatches with that (fan included) but still wanted better hatch rates so I ordered the sportsman 1502 digital so I can't wait to try that out! I get it on Monday! I hear the LG's are not so good and any fanless one does not do well either.

So the Hovabator would be a better choice than the Little Giant. I am looking in the Ebay stores right now, and I see a couple of good deals, however some come with the fan OR the turner, but only that one Hovabator for $114.99 comes with both. I don't want to purchase things separately and have to install them myself. I'd rather if it just came with it automatically.

Mine is still-air. I think that small hatches are just fine without a fan. Some say it increases hatch rate, but from my own (one time so far) experience I think it's just fine sans fan. I'm sure the fan is important if you have a gigantic incubator.

Also, many have said that a still-air is hard to regulate the temp. Once my got 100 degrees (yes, I know most folks say 101-102 for still air, but that's not what the 1602N instructions say) I never had to adjust the temp again through the whole hatch. Plus, I didn't buy some fancy digital thermometer; I just used the one that came with the incubator and it worked!

Maybe I just had a blessed hatch, but it seems that some folks get WAY worked up over hatching. No offense, type-A friends!! Love y'all too!

My nephew has a LG still air with a turner and he seems to always have great hatches. I have a hovabator with a fan and turner and my first year I had a great hatch. Last year not as good.
I have it set up now getting ready for eggs and also bought a new LG still air with a turner. Going to see which one workers better with shipped eggs.

That question was intended for the OP. Sorry about that!

Did you have a hygrometer in the incubator to measure the humidity level?
