Hi there, new chick mom here. I have a 6 day old blue cochin who is a slow grower, and had a big scab on her navel. She had very runny poops for several days, and I couldn't tell if her bum fluff was getting stained yellow from the poop or if she was leaking leftover yoke. I have kept her bottom as clean as possible, applied aquafor to help the poop not stick to her, and did not touch her scab at all. She has pulled out a lot of her bottom fluff, but she is pooping solid poops now, and she eats and drinks frequently.
My question is: I don't know what a healed navel should look like. Now that her scab is gone, her navel looks like a tiny light colored pinprick. Is that what it should look like?
Thanks for any help!
