What is a Painted Sussex?

I just saw those on Mt healthy's website a few weeks ago when I was looking for chicks. Here's the description it gives

Your chick doesn't look light like I'd expect these are though.
Update:
My "paint" sussex is still looking like a speckled 2 weeks later ;-) I bought another SS so will now have 2

Also, I emailed the manager at Mt Healthy Hatchery. It is a cross of a RI white hen and a Barred Rock rooster.
Thanks for all the extra info. I am suprised they call is a Sussex. It's a pretty mix though.

I've been reading this thread with great interest because we just picked up a couple of "Paint Sussex" from a local farm store here in Northwestern Ohio. As you discovered, I could only find a reference to this breed from Mt. Healthy hatcheries in Cincinnati, OH. I've attached pictures of my chicks. They are nearly all yellow with a few splotches of grayish/black down feathers. I'm guessing the chicks will grow out largely white feathers and the dark patches will become the "painted" splotches.

Hello, I have a new question. My sister in law may have the paint sussex. Do any of them have a yellow instead of a white tint? She is about 10 weeks old.
