Hello this might be a stupid question but what is bumble foot and how do they get it? I have seen things like how to fix it or people ask if their chicken/duck have it. I’m just wondering what it is. I really have no idea what it is.
Sorry for any inconvenience.

There’s several good articles here in the website. Just search ‘bumble foot’ and you’ll see them all.

it’s a bacterial infection that occurs on duck (and other animals) feet. it can happen when they get cuts/scrapes on their foot, or when they are walking on hard materials too much. if it spreads to their leg they will need surgery, it can also kill them if it spreads too much.

it can be treated with warm epson salt soaks, antibiotics, and wrapping. it usually requires vet help

Bumblefoot is a bacterial infection of the foot. It usually presents as an abscess on the foot with a black scab. Often the bird will be lame and the swelling can be quite severe. It is usually caused by a wound of some sort (e.g., stepping on a thorn or sharp wood) that allows the infection to get into the duck's system. Nutritional issues can lead to weaker skin, so nutrition can be a secondary sauce. Also, anecdotally, I've heard it more often affects heavier birds.
