what is coccidiosis?

Hi just wondering my chicken pooped a greenish brown poop and i am always worrying about them and i have heard about coccidiosis in chickens but dont know what it is

It is a protozoa found nature. There are a good number of strains that are named, eight or nine. It attacks the intestinal lining of adolescent birds that have yet to develop an immunity. Red, or bloody poop is your signal to act immediately. It can be a very quick killer, but is fairly easily prevented and treated with amprolium aka Corid in the water.
