What is day 1?

OK all you incubating pros out there I've got the question of questions here. (It has probably been answered here on BYC before and I just cannot find it.) As far as incubating chicken eggs, what is day 1? Is it the day you set the eggs in the turner and turn the incubator on? Or, is it the following day (24 hours later)?

some use the day they put the egg and run bator day 1


some use tomorrow after they put the egg and run the bator as day 1

just choose which one you like

Thats a good question and ive been wondering it myself. I guess whatever day they hatch, just subtract 21 and that was your day 1?

My understanding is ...
If you set the eggs before noon, that is day 1.
If you set the eggs after noon, the next day is day 1.
