what is flogging

I think it means this:

What ever did we do in the days before YouTube? lol

Edited to add another:

I know it won't be funny when it happens to me but the sight of this girl screaming and running away from something 1/10 of her size is rather amusing.

Heaven help our Cocky Balboa if he ever pulls some mess like this.

I think the "flogging" part comes from all the wing flappage. Whereas the spurring gets the feet involved.

yeah its when your rooster gets all attitude-y and flaps at you with the intent to do harm.

many times its when your back is turned and all of a sudden a five found sack of flour hits your legs from behind. honestly its a little surprising and sometimes can result in scratches and a bruise (if he uses his beak)

this is followed shortly by me calling the dogs and issuing the order to "get that rooster." the tables turned, the evil roo is chased off and hides.

its all fun and games until you have a child and the roo jumps up - at child eye level high - and uses his claws.

if/when your roo flogs you the options are:

1. roo stew - which i highly recommend
2. you can carry a broom or stick to beat the what-for out of him when he gets that look in his eye
3. snatch him up from time to time and carry him around upside down to prove you are the boss rooster
4. snuggle him lovingly to try and get him on your side.

whatever you decide, you'll know flogging when it hits you from behind.

good luck!
